Family Business
In 2017, the owners Douglas Bonilla and Lucy Crespo began their first wood working business in a small room in the basement of their apartment in Springfield, NJ with dreams of creating beautiful products that would bring joy to their customers. They did bring lots of joy to people homes over the years!
Along the way, Douglas and Lucy prospered through many challenges to grow their business, but experiences that only made them work harder and strive for a better future for their wood working business. Douglas, the head woodworker is an inspiring and talented artist who looks to create new and excited pieces. "The crazier the idea, the funner it is for me" he would say in laughter. Douglas is the genius behind all of Enzos Designs products. His partner, Lucy Crespo has supported his dreams from the moment they met. Lucy helps with the admin, sales and some design work. Lucy's experience in Conservation leads the efforts to create Sustainable Wood Products to reduce the usage of plastic products that last over 800years and replace them with organic materials that would cause less harm to the environment. Lucy Crespo states, "I push to use every last piece of materials to reduce our carbon footprint on this planet, we need to strive to provide more sustainable everyday items not just for our customers but for the future generations who will have to deal with our waste". Their son Enzo is a constant reminder of why businesses should strive to improve their impact on the environment and wildlife.
GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY
Enzos Design LLC is in the process of creating a series of fun programs for the community to come and learn about woodworking.
Ages 2+
Arts and Crafts using coasters, bird boxes, wood sculptures, cutting boards and more.
Ages 10+
Learn how to craft your own cutting boards, coasters, serving trays and more. (Pieces will be pre-cut)
SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS
This family welcomes innovative ideas and partnerships to promote the usage of wood products. They often look for the eco-friendly products that are accessible and continue to research the ways that they can improve their methods for the benefit of the customer as well as the environment! As their company grows they hope to give a percentage of their income back into improving Environmental Justice Communities in New Jersey by donating money to local organizations who will plant trees in environmentally disadvantaged communities.
